Triki the Eshin Sorcerer

Have been doing some work on Triki my sorcerer. He is supposed to make up for his size with his magical powers. He will, in the future, have a brace of warplock pistols so that he does not have to get into combat and he will have two bodyguards with spears when I play my first game and loot some villages.

I really enjoy the look of the sorcerer, I put him on the rocks so that the line of sight issues are resolved as a short guy is easier to hide behind cover.

Here are some pictures of him fully painted. I feel like something is missing but don't know what. Anyway here you go:

Will post regular updates when each model/henchmen group is finished

Skaven Mordheim War-band

I played my first game of Mordheim today....It went ok.

It was only a practice game 'cause we only had 30 minutes but we managed to get 5 turns of epic combat in. I killed 4 guys and lost none but I picked my combats badly but rolled well.

I completely forgot to take pictures in the heat of the moment and need to remember next time. It is getting kinda silly.

Anyway, I have revised my war-band and rewritten my list. I exchanged quality for quantity as I can always purchase equipment later on when I get more gold. Also the sparse amount of attacks and the many steps to actually killing a model means that it is not as useful to buy armour as one would think. It is also better to have more characters as they gather loot at the ends of each battle so more heroes=more loot.

Here is my revised army list:

Assassin adept: 60 gc
Weeping blades: 50 gc
Helmet: 10 gc

Eshin sorcerer: 45 gc

Black skaven: 40 gc
Combat claws: 35 gc

Black skaven: 40 gc
Combat claws: 35 gc

Night runner: 20 gc
Throwing stars: 15 gc

Night runner: 20 gc
Throwing stars: 15 gc

Verminkin x5: 100 gc
Mace x5: 15 gc

Mordheim Skaven: Bases

I have decided on a theme for the bases which is city ruins (How creative as the campaign is set in a ruined city)

Here are some pictures of the first 3 bases.

All 3 together. The pole on the centre one will have my adept hanging off it

The small baubles on the floor are wyrdstone and will create an OSL effect on my Skaven's cloaks

The third base with different paving stones

Sorry about the short post but I can not build my Skaven until later today for reasons known only to me.

Someone asked me to post the link to more stuff so here it is:

The campaign that we are doing is all under the official sections of each folder, there are also unofficial war-bands that we will not be using.

Updates later with built Skaven and maybe a battle report of a Mordheim game.

Mordheim campaign: Clan Eshin Skaven

My local gaming group is starting a Mordheim campaign and I have decided to do a Clan Eshin, Skaven war-band.

For those of you that don't know, Mordheim is a ruined empire city full of loot and wyrdstone. This means that many war-bands roam the ruined city in search of wyrdstone and other epic lootz. The Skaven of Mordheim are there to collect the wyrdstone, or as they know it, warpstone.

I have chosen Skaven because I love the idea of a war-band that is adept at running around on the rooftops and performing aerial kills like tiny little assassins. My war-band is a group from Clan Eshin that perform assassinations on Important targets in Mordheim that threaten the Skaven mission.

I have created a war-band and only need names for my characters. This is the current incarnation of it.

War-band

Assassin adept: 60 gc
Light armour: 20 gc
Weeping Blades: 50 gc
Helmet: 10 gc
Total: 140 gc

Black Skaven: 40 gc
Fighting claws: 35 gc
Light armour: 20 gc
Helmet: 10 gc
Total: 105 gc

Henchmen x4: 80 gc
Light armour x4: 80 gc
Shield x4: 20 gc
Sword x2: 20 gc
Club x2: 6gc
Helmet x4: 40gc
Total: 246 gc

Disclaimer: not my war-band but a cool example of one

Total spent: 491 gc
Total remaining: 9 gc

General update and Stuff

This week will be sparse on updates due to work.

My Bretonian opponent cancelled on Saturday and my second choice of wood elves cancelled 3 hours before the game so I ended up playing one of the areas more experienced players and let's just say that I got my a** handed to me on a platter.

We deployed fairly normally except for the stupid deployment of my Mournfang cavalry. Suffice to say that they get led around by a unit of Darkriders for the whole game.

My Ironguts were taken from all sides by his Shades and Cold Ones as well as a Chariot and the Charybdis. They did get the lifesaving Trollguts cast that kept them from dying outright on turn 3. The Ironblaster was reduced to T 3 at the beginning of the game and gunned down.

His Shadow magic was a massive pain in the a** until my Hellheart reduced his sorceress to LVL 2 and she lost Pit of shades and Okkham's Mindrazor. He still had his annoying stat reducing spells and so unfortunately I still died but I still put up a fight.

I got some deployment tips at the end of the game and hope to be ready for my next one.

Maneaters

Onto the second topic of this post. my Maneaters are a work in progress currently with no green stuff work and only 3 built but they will soon be ready to go into the field of battle.

WIP Ironblaster

I am in the process of painting my Ironblaster in anticipation for the game on the weekend and wanted to show how it was going.

I am loving the miniature and the look of the chariot overall. Am hoping to finish it by this weekend to play with it in all of its glory on Sunday.
